It's good to have a deadline to be productive.
Check here for her line of projects...she is having fun!

Holiday Sewing #2

f0194450_831260.jpgMy holiday sewing #2...
These are for my friend who has a little girl. The mother loves the shabby chic look so the lovely floral print is perfect for her. Isn't it cute that a mother and a daughter cooking together in the matching aprons?

Sew & Tell - Maggie's Napikins & Placemats

f0194450_7232755.jpgMaggie(Hope I got your name right) usually has more than one project on her mind when she visits Peapod. She starts searching for a plan A, but often ends up going home with fabrics for a plan D, E, or F (I don't even know how many plans were actually on her mind that day). These red ticking napkins and linen placemats are her plan D. The napkins are made of the same soft twill cotton that I made my tea towel with, and she choose the natural flax color linen for the placemats aiming at the traditional French look. The strip of the red dot print nicely groups all of them together. Thanks Maggie!

Holiday Sewing

f0194450_1274848.jpgI hope everyone is sewing as I am for the holidays. This vintage inspired apron is for my friend. I picked Jennifer Paganelli's Bell Bottom for its vintage look. It's bright and perfect for this design.
f0194450_12102659.jpgI made the red ticking tea towel too. It's made of a very soft twill cotton, and it's only $8/yard.
f0194450_12104837.jpgTwo ties on the back. They could be a little shorter, but I like the way they look.
f0194450_12111120.jpgIt seems like vintage style aprons are back in style. A lot of my customers are making them, and jennifer is one of them...check out her apron love...

Deck the Halls

It's hard to believe it's already December...it feels especially short this year. Maybe because Thanksgiving was pretty late this year...i saw some cars with a tree on the roof on the way back to the city on Black Friday. What? I thought...oh December was just three days away...I took out my tiny tree when I got home. The photos are from last year (lazy me), but it looks pretty much the same, except that Rudy is on the store window at Peapod. f0194450_9383136.jpg

Sew & Tell - lavish of projects

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I was sick for the past couple of weeks and got better just in time for the holiday. Here I am, back with lots of cute projects to share with you...Many thanks to all of the ladies!!!

f0194450_151511100.jpgShinobu is so proud of her five year old daughter's very first patchwork quilt. It will keep her extra warm in bed on these cold nights.

f0194450_15162269.jpgJennifer picked Heather Ross' Russian doll print to make a blanket for her Russian friend's new baby. Make sense :-) Backed with a super soft flannel and embelished with a lime green cotton rick rack (both available at Peapod), it is ready to snuggle a soon to be born baby.

f0194450_1631670.jpgSara has a good friend who does her taxes every year for free. Lucky her! In return, she makes her tax preparer a handmade gift to show her gratitude. No wonder her friend provides a free tax service cuz she gets a gift like this every year...a sort of a chicken or egg situation...

f0194450_47928.jpgDianne who finds sewing very relaxing enjoys mix'n match prints and colors. She and I both love to sew pillows with a trim, and the purple pillow she made for her purple lover friend has two different trims. Believe me, a little detail like this makes a project cuter and more special.
f0194450_4313767.jpgDianne continues to enjoy mix'n match and sew for her friends. A green bird apron with the blue pebbles...what a fun combo! An apron is a perfect gift for this eat to die holiday season too.

Thanks again, everyone!
