Post Chrismas Days...

f0194450_5473497.jpgHope everyone had a wonderful holiday as I did. For many folks, holiday stress ends as the holiday is over, but, mine started right after Christmas and still continues... You have no idea how stressed I was yesterday. I don't want to talk about why, but if I sounded so when you were here yesterday, I apologize. I tried so hard to keep calm all day until...until the end of the day. Anyways, it will be over tomorrow so until then breathe me breathe...

Cooking Christmas Eve

Busy busy busy...I got major cooking tonight for tomorrow. I am in charge of a few appetizers, but I am challenging myself to do more. Just finished bechamel sauce and rolled meatballs. Just taking a break with flan that my boy made. I still need to chop some veggies, clean shrimps, make sauce for the meatballs, roll some meat into skewers, and whatelse? Okay, got go back to work.

What Women Want for Christmas

This is my lovely sewing machine called Quilter's Choice Pro from Baby Lock. It does only straight stitches, but powerful and beautiful. And I LOVE it. Soon after I opened the shop, I was searching for one GOOD one with which I don't have to curse everytime I get to the heaviest layered part where my needle eats up the fabric and refuses to go any further. I didn't need any fancy stitches but beautiful secure straight stitches. I was going for JUKI for its strong reputation, but I didn't know where to buy it locally. The place I went to in Daly City is no longer there, but they sold Baby Lock instead. I tried it, and fell in love. It was like magic. You will know what I mean if you try it. The owner gave me a deal and this baby came home with me that day. Besides beautiful stitches it creates, I love the automatic thread cutter. This makes a big difference in your sewing life. The price wasn't easy, but a good investment. Around $900, but it was totally worth it. The price usually associates with a number of stitches and fancy functions, but in many cases, you probablly don't use them. Straight, zig zag, button holes, zipper. That's all you need. Really. I think $300 is plenty for a good new one, and there is always a good second hand. So what do you want for Christmas? Just say a sewing machine.

it's made of metal. so heavy, but a heavy machine is a good machine...

one press on the scissors button, a thread is cut. no time and a thread wasted...

my serger next to baby lock. you don't need it, if you don't sew clothes. zigzag does the job, but it's nice to see the clean cut edges that a serger creates. mine cost about $180.

Hello Pajama Pants

f0194450_7574821.jpgSawubona, Salaam, Zdravo, Buon Giorno, Shalom, Guten Tag, Jo Napot, Hoi, Goddag, Namaste, Hola, Bonjour, Zhivjo, Aloha, and Konnichiwa everyone!
I just wanted to say Hello :-)The new print I received shows Hello in different languages. I think it's a cool print, and pajama pants are always fun things to make with a funky print. I just replaced the top photo from my cute elf with my new pjs, but sorry it doesn't really show the true color (I wanted to retake it, but someone didn't cooperate with me). But, here they are, nice and bright.

A Jolly Corner

f0194450_3343860.jpgWe stopped buying a real tree a few years ago and bought a tiny table top white feather tree instead. It is small, but it fits our small living style. And I adore small living :-) It doesn't hold all of my ornaments because of the size, so I usually make another place for them to hang out. Most of them are thrifted, and none of them are looking perfect, but I love the vintagy look. They look like they come to life when we are not looking like toys in Toy Story. Loved that movie.
